Visit to the Waitakere Refuse Centre
In Term 1 Room 4 visited the Waitakere Refuse Centre. It was a very informative and interactive trip. We learned about Organic and Inorganic Rubbish and why it is important to sort these separately.
We also had a sneek peek into their worm farm and with the help of a microscope Room 4 children could see up & close how the worms feed off the rubbish which ultimately results in the breaking down of all our waste into soil.
